CIK FIA P1 DEFENDER RIB PROTECTOR

Introducing the new P1 Defender, designed to meet the latest CIK FIA specifications for karting body protection. All P1 Defenders are Unisex.

They are designed, produced, and manufactured in-house within the UK Tillett factory, ensuring the highest quality standards are retained.

KEY FEATURES

• Fully adjustable to the angle of the driver’s chest shape. Adjustable and elasticated shoulder harness straps to accommodate body length.
• Flexible chest protector adapts to the individual to achieve comfort.
• Strength: Using highly developed moulding technology and quality materials maintains the CIK legal requirements under extreme conditions.
• The durable yet impact-resistant composite panels spread the load effectively even when hot, preventing rib injuries that could be caused if the profile were to flatten.
• Fully CIK approved and homologated to FIA 8870-2018.
• Design gives 360 degrees of protection.
• Highly specialised energy-absorbing foam and semi-flexible outer plastic edges graduate the forces as they extend past the hard composite support panel, to spread the edge loads preventing it from digging in under the arms.
• Smooth plastic outer layer will not damage race suits.
• Able to protect using a very thin cross section, so does not disrupt the seat size. Loose hips create more rib pressure.
• Inner layer of Lycra provides a comfortable and abrasion-free surface for the driver, even when wet with sweat.
• Ultra-lightweight materials for the best performance, approximate weight 680g – 1.1kg
• The soft but tough outer surface will resist wear caused by the very hard side panels and the protruding heads of the seat bolts. Thus, protecting the race suit from raw unprotected composite. Uncovered fibres act like sandpaper once exposed.
